Many people have their own system for organizing their notes. Often people use different colors of highlight pens to represent different types of notes. MyScribe includes three pens by default but you are welcome to add more pens and change any pen you like. Your changes will take place immediately for all notes authored with that pen.

Add a new highlight pen

Let's say you have an assignment to write a term paper that will use certain equations or explanations found in the documents your professor provided to you. You can create a "Term Paper" pen so that it will be easy to identify and filter out the notes you will need when you write your paper later in the semester.

1. Click on the arrow to the right of the highlight pen icon on the toolbar to open the 'Pen Manager'
   
   
2. When the menu appears click on the 'Add' button
3. Give the new pen a name and color
   
   
4. Click 'OK'

You can edit existing pens by selecting the pen name in the 'Pen Manager' and clicking on the 'Edit' button. You can also delete pens from the Pen Manager
